Stress
Stress is a set of physiological reactions that prepares the body for action in response to a physical and/or emotional challenge. Eustress is the proper activation necessary to successfully complete a difficult situation. Distress occurs when the situation exceeds the ability to control, anxiety and irritability appear mainly in the person.
The main stress responses are at the cognitive level (worry, fear, negative thoughts, fears, difficulties in thinking, studying, concentrating), at the physiological level (sweating, muscle tension, palpitations, tachycardia, tremor, nausea, chills, headache, gastric discomfort, respiratory difficulties) and at the motor level (avoidance of dreaded situations, smoking, eating or drinking excessively, stuttering, becoming paralyzed, motor restlessness)
